Kazbek (5047m), one of the highest and most beautiful peaks of the Caucasus is situated in the eastern part the central Caucasus. The Kazbek region has many summits over 4000 metres and remains of the most important mountaineering and trekking destinations in the Caucasus. Mt. Kazbek is also known as “Mkinvartsveri” (‘mountain of glaciers’) - by its Georgian name – it has nine glaciers. We offer a 5 day climbing trip to its summit. The summit is not technically difficult to climb but Mt. Kazbek is considered a serious mountain and good physical condition and basic mountaineering experience is required. |

| Ex-Tbilisi Itinerary: Day 1: Drive to Kazbegi along Georgian Military Highway and the Jvari Pass. Walk in the area. Night in Kazbegi (1700m). Day 2: Full day trek; At first walk up the alpine meadows and by crossing Gergeti Glacier trek to the mountain hut - "Meteostation" (3680m). Night in the hut. Day 3: Acclimatization treks up to 4200m. Night in the hut. Day 4: Climb the summit of Kazbek. Descend to the mountain hut. Day 5: Trek down to Kazbegi. Transfer to Tbilisi. | |||
